Armando Jenkins-Vazquez is a documentary photographer based in Decorah, Iowa, making long-term work in the Midwest and beyond.

His first book, Crater, grew out of years of walking the streets and trails of Decorah, a town in the Driftless region that sits within the footprint of a 465-million-year-old meteorite impact. Crater is releasing November 2026.

Chambers of Reflection, an ongoing project, is a study of life along the Great Lakes, made on repeated trips and living out of a van. It will also become a book.

Armando also makes videos shared on Youtube, and has bodies of photography work in Mexico City, New York City, San Miguel de Allende, and across Europe.

For five years, he was Assistant Director of Digital Content at Luther College, producing photography and video for the college and its community. He is available for select commissions with institutions, publications, and brands. See commissioned work
